In November of 2024, Cleveland Cascades Ltd have accepted an order for 2 x identical systems to be supplied to Ras Laffan in Qatar.
These systems will be designed to load Sulphur at rates of up to 550 tonnes per hour for a stockpile loading application.
With the corrosive nature of Suplhur, the system will feature a painting specification to ensure steelwork protection. As Sulphur is also considered a high risk for explosion, the system will also be fitted with electrical components for hazardous areas following the necessary ATEX classification.
The two chutes will be Cleveland Cascade's 1100 sized systems, suspended from a fixed interface with an extended length of 25.5m and will retract to approximately 6m.
Each chute will feature Cleveland Cascade's GRP cones lined with UHMWPE anti static liner and fitted with an anti-static system throughout. At the base of the chutes there will be a skirt outlet for dust suppression.
The two systems are expected to dispatch to the customer in early 2025.
One of Cleveland Cascade's previous Sulphur loading systems can be seen in the images below showing the expected results of the loading of Sulphur with the Cascade Chute:
