bauma: Flexco Europe presents innovative solutions for belt conveyor systems
The world’s leading trade fair for construction machinery will once again be held at the exhibition center in Munich from April 7 to 13, 2025. At its 116 square metre booth, Flexco Europe will be showcasing various new developments that can significantly increase the efficiency of belt conveyor systems – from innovative tools and fasteners to belt cleaners with smart carbide blades and belt support bars – something new in every way, with significant added value for operators of belt conveyor systems. In Munich, Flexco Europe will present a new tool from the 900 series that covers two applications in one and can be used for both cutting and skiving: depending on the version, users can precisely cut belts with thicknesses of up to 38 millimetres and widths of 600 to 2,100 millimetres. The blade is clamped into the profile to ensure a square cut. One special feature here is that the blade is completely enclosed during the cutting operation, which significantly minimizes the risk of injury. The user also can skive the belt while cutting it what makes the process much faster and easier. The desired thickness can be easily adjusted. The eight-point clamping knobs also provide convenient operation.
The Munich trade fair moreover will see Flexco showcasing the mechanical splicing/fastening system for steel cord belts, which was developed for both temporary fasteners and for pulling the steel cord belt onto the conveyor belt system. In the unlikely event of a belt being badly damaged in an emergency, the FXC™ steel cord belt fastening system can be installed immediately. This enables the maintenance staff to get the system up and running quickly and reducing downtime to a minimum, what causes that the vulcanization required to restore a permanent splice in the conveyor belt can be scheduled for a non-critical production time.
If a belt sags between the deflection pulleys, more dust will escape, the environment could be endangered and possibly resulting in uneven wear of the sealing lip. If this happens, the skirting system will no longer serve its purpose and may then need to be regularly adjusted or even replaced. To counter this, Flexco Europe has expanded its product portfolio to include conveyor belt support bars. They ensure that the belt is pressed against the skirting system, guaranteeing its functionality. The conveyor belt support bars can be easily bolted or welded to the existing belt structure and adapted to the respective requirements of the belt systems with the appropriate height and angle settings.

For trade fair visitors interested in belt conveyor cleaning Flexco Europe will also be exhibiting its CBS secondary cleaner. This is equipped with a continuous cleaner blade, which ensures excellent cleaning efficiency and low maintenance. The heavy-duty blade has a steel structure with a polyurethane-cast carbide front edge, which makes the cleaner extremely tough and robust.
The online platform Elevate will have a special presence at the company’s bauma booth. The Elevate devices, attached to the conveyor belt cleaners, collect data that can be accessed by plant operators in real time via an app or a dashboard, regardless of location Flexco Europe’s Elevate product family additionally continues to grow: for the first time, the company will be introducing its “smart” carbide blades, which use sensors to provide data on the wear of the carbide blades on conveyor belt cleaners. The added value of the Elevate system will be increased even more by this new Elevate product, enabling even better planning of service measures in the future.
