Heidelberg Materials, a leading manufacturer of heavy construction materials in the Nordic region, acquires NCC Industry's operations in Sweden and Norway, thereby strengthening and expanding its offering in the region.
NCC Industry operates 106 aggregate plants with significant reserves and 44 asphalt plants in Sweden and Norway.
Through the acquisition, Heidelberg Materials is entering the asphalt market in the region, while the company significantly expands its geographical coverage for the supply of aggregates.
We are very pleased to welcome NCC Industry to Heidelberg Materials. NCC Industry has had strong development in recent years and is a well-performing business that is in a growth phase. Through the acquisition, we strengthen our presence in the infrastructure segment, a segment that we believe will develop well in the coming years. We are particularly looking forward to welcoming the new colleagues and building on the expertise and experience that exists in the organization, says Giv Brantenberg, General Manager Northern Europe, and adds:
NCC Industry becomes part of a group that focuses entirely on the production of heavy construction materials. This provides a good foundation for continued development, innovation and long-term growth.
Heavy construction materials are the core of Heidelberg Materials' global operations. By complementing its Nordic offering with the new asphalt business area and significantly strengthening its presence in aggregates, Heidelberg Materials will be able to offer its customers a broader and more coherent offering in Norway and Sweden.
It is of utmost importance to us that the expertise, experience and entrepreneurial spirit within NCC Industry continue to be a central part of the business, so that together we can build a strong platform for the future, says Giv Brantenberg.
