EBS, a wholly owned subsidiary of HES International B.V., has announced the expansion of its covered storage capacity in the Port of Rotterdam. Supported
by a long-term contract, the capacity will be enlarged by 60,000m3. The expansion involves the construction of a shed for various dry bulk products that need to be stored in covered storage. The infrastructure will be constructed on the existing terminal at the Laurenshaven. Furthermore a new shed, for agri bulk, is planned at the Europoort terminal.
Construction of the shed at the Laurenshaven will start summer 2016 and is expected to be operational as from the first quarter of 2017. “We are excited to develop this expansion project which confirms EBS’s philosophy of providing extremely efficient infrastructure to our customers. The new sheds will be built in line with the terminal’s high standards for safety and flexibility,” said Taco de Vries, Director Business Development Dry Bulk HES Int. Jan Vogel, CEO at HES Int. added: “This new investment underlines the strategy of HES International and the commitment of its shareholders to grow further in the dry bulk segment, and strengthen our position in the covered storage of all dry bulk cargo”.
