Earlier this year, Cleveland Cascades was manufacturing for a system to be installed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA.
The Cascade System is designed to load Wood Pellets at a rate of 1,200 tonnes per hour and will cover up to 5 million tonnes annually.
At an extended length of just under 30m the Cascade System will be supported by a fixed boom shiploader and will retract to a length of 8.2m. The fixed head chute design will include an upper deflector for material control and a head drum cover as well as a locally mounted spool type winch for vertical movement control as shown in the images in the gallery below.
The running faces of the cones will be lined with UHMWPE Anti Static liners for abrasion protection and reduction of spark potential from static build up.
As the materials being loaded can be explosive, all of the electrical components on the Cascade System are ATEX rated for operation in hazardous areas.
This Cascade System is the second the company has supplied to this particular end-user. Cleveland Cascades is looking forward to supporting with the installation and commissioning for this project.
