During the first part of November, average weighted bulk carrier earnings continued on the upward trend that commenced at the start of October, rising to $24,569/day on the 20th of the month. Earnings then dipped slightly w-o-w before rising again to stand at $23,721/day on the 4th December.

Global Coking coal Market analysis 2009
Seaborne Canadian coking coal exports fell slightly in August to stamd at 2.0mt, down by 11.7% m-o-m and 15.9% y-o-y. This brought exports in the year-to-date to 12.6mt, a decline of 30.4% in comparison to the same period in 2008.

Grain Imports and Exports
The International Grains Council (IGC) currently projects global grain trade to reach 228.4mt in the current 2009/10 crop year (CY, July to June). The projection has been raised by 2.1mt from last month, due to larger than expected wheat imports by Brazil and Syria in particular.
